Job Description For A Champion Tracker

The position of CT requires a team made up of two parts, one human and one canine in any combination of gender and size. Following are suggested characteristics for each portion of the team.

The Dog: Can be of any breed, shape or size. Color and appearance not important. Must possess a nose and be able to use it.

In addition, for the ideal candidate for this position we have found the following characteristics to be of extreme value:

Motivation –The successful candidate will for some reason want to do this job.

Drive – As a result of motivation, the candidate will be driven by some force within to keep working, sometimes above and beyond what would be considered normal circumstances, such as weather and interference by outside influences.

Responsibility – The successful candidate will show his handler how to trust him by adhering to the highest principles of honesty and integrity.

Determination – The desire to get the job done regardless of the degree of difficulty.

Condition – Excellent physical condition a must for the physical aspects and outdoor nature of the job.

Leadership & Communication - Must be able to communicate non verbally across species and able to back that communication with convincing actions to occasionally compel compliance by the handler.
